Geotech NOVA CPT
  1. General characteristics. The CPTU NOVA recording system consists of the following elements: CPTU cone, transmitter, microphone, interface, depth reader and cabling. The whole thing, together with the CPT-LOG program for recording measurements, works with any notebook computer equipped with the Windows /Windows 8/Windows 8.1/Windows 10/Windows 11 operating system.
  2. Wireless data transmission.Measurement data from the CPTU cone are transmitted to the transmitter, where sound is generated and modulated.Additionally, the transmitter contains a container for batteries (standard type C, 4 pcs.), which are the source of energy for the measuring cone and the transmitter.Sound waves generated by the transmitter are transmitted by CPT steel poles to the surface and picked up by the microphone. Then the signal from the microphone is transmitted via cable to the so-calledinterface in which depth information is added (from the depth reader on the surface) and a signal is generated which is forwarded to a notebook computer. The logging program installed on the computer reads the signal from the interface, generates information in real time about the values of the recorded parameters in the form of graphs and numerical forms, and saves the result in the form of appropriate files. These files can then be numerically processed and interpreted by, for example, the CPT-pro program
  3. The wireless transmission system is much more effective than cable systems and allows for much higher probing efficiency (by 30-50%).
